Character
Name: Rhyme Bito
Fandom: The World Ends With You
Gender: Female
Age: She doesn’t have an official age but she looks around 13
Time Period: On the way to building 109, right before she’s erased on day 4
Wing Color: pure white
History: twewy wiki
Personality:Rhyme is exactly as she seems when you first meet her: Sweet, kind and all together a great person to be around. Always wearing a smile on her face, she is a very optimistic person and gets along with just about anyone, short, tall, weird and normal.
“Haste makes waste”
This is practically a motto that Rhyme lives by. Unlike Beat, who likes to dive into things headfirst, Rhyme likes to take the time to think and assess the situation before running into it. Even if time is running out on something, she likes to know her facts are correct rather than make a mistake. Much like the time she tried to convince Beat they had to get the golden bat and not rush into something else. Because of this, this makes her seem like the more collected one, thought-wise, in the group.
A lot of how Rhyme turned out to be has to do with her brother, Beat. When they were alive, she loved him and looked up to him as a role model despite how their parents saw him. Because of this, she acts a bit more boyish than a normal girl would and even speaks and dresses in a more masculine way, hence why Beat and Rhyme wear almost identical clothing. Even after death, she remains loyal and loving to him, protecting the bell charm around her neck, an item she holds dear to her.
Although Rhyme has no memories of Beat as her brother, but her partner, she treats him just as she would if she knew who he was to her. In fact, she acts more like a mother than a sister to him a lot of the time, telling him things like “patience is a virtue” and “don’t run so fast or you’ll trip”. The reason she looks out for him so much is not only because he’s her partner, but because since the start of the Game, he’s always been there for her. Even when she was down about having nothing to live for in life, he encouraged her to keep moving forward and find her own dreams.
“Why come back to life if I’ve got nothing to live for?”
Upon entering the Game, Rhyme’s entry fee was all of her dreams, her ambitions and because of this, the spark in her life is gone. This itself tends to be a tender spot all on its own. When she listens to other people talk about their goals and dreams for their own futures, it can instantly bring a frown to her face. She knows she doesn’t have something to look forward to like they do and she isn’t afraid to admit that she doesn’t. But by all means, this doesn’t mean she won’t give up on finding her own dreams. Though at first she believed that getting a second chance at life would be pointless, after seeing how determined Beat was to reach his own goal to become a professional skateboarder, things changed. She uses peoples’, mainly Beat’s, upbeat attitudes about reaching their own dreams to inspire herself to find her own dream. So in a sense, she uses them like a crutch.
Strengths: Physical: Rhyme is strong enough, physically, to hold herself up in a battle against the noise.
Mental/Emotional: Rhyme is a cool and collected person. Living up to the saying ‘patience is a virtue’, she likes to take her time and not only enjoy the little things, but actually take the time to stop and think about the situation at hand. Out of the whole group, she is the more organized one thought wise.
Weaknesses: Physical: Although Rhyme is capable of holding up her own weight when fighting alongside Beat against noise, you have to remember that Rhyme is the smallest and youngest out of the others in the group. Fighting alone and actually inflicting damage on someone with only her bare hands, Rhyme has little chances of winning. She isn’t an athlete and she isn’t exactly muscular.
Mental/Emotional: As her entry fee to the Game, Rhyme has lost all passion for life; she no longer has any dreams or ambitions. Because of this, she relies on Beat’s and other peoples’ upbeat attitudes and determination to fulfill their own dreams to try and inspire herself to keep moving forward and one day find her own dreams.
Beat tends to be quite a big weakness when it comes down to it. Although she doesn’t remember him as her brother, she still feels the need to look out for him and care for him, especially since he was that one ‘stranger’ who has helped her out a lot. That being said, she will willingly throw herself in harm’s way to protect him and keep him safe without any hesitation.

First person: Is it on now? [A pause] Oh, I think I got it! [She giggles happily to herself]
Well, um, hello everyone! My name is Rhyme and I’m new here to Luceti. I thought I should at least introduce myself since I might be here for a while.
[There’s another pause as she thinks to herself and then--] Oh right! I wanted to ask, has anyone seen a necklace with a bell charm on it? You see, my brother gave it to me and it’s very important to me. I tried looking in the item shop but I couldn’t find it there… How long does it take for things to arrive here?
I’d really like to get it back as soon as possible… [Her voice quiets down for a moment. The frown in her voice can be heard easily. Without it she has nothing of her brother’s here with her… nothing. She tries to smile again as she speaks up.]
If you can tell me anything, please let me know. Thank you.
Third person: Was there a purpose for her here? Is this where she would find it?
Those two questions have been constantly nagging at her mind ever since she arrived in Luceti. She would often find herself at the fountain in the plaza just thinking about it. Beat still being his, well, usual upbeat self hasn’t allowed her to give up hope on finding her dreams and yet… she couldn’t stop thinking about it.
This place made things different. She was no longer invisible to the world, she wasn’t just a soul, ‘a speck’ as the reapers would say, in the UG just wandering about trying to escape erasure, she was alive. Or at least it felt as if she was alive. She had a heartbeat, she could run into people and actually bump into them, she could people-watch and the people would just stare right back… this place just made everything change.
She didn’t want to believe that this second chance, or whatever it was, was a waste of time for the Malnosso, or even for herself. She wanted to live, to have a purpose, but what was that purpose? What could she possibly do in a place like this?
She sighed softly to herself. There has to be something, she thought. Anything.
She couldn’t just give up hope. She knew that her dreams would find her someday if she kept moving forward, and make this place could have something for her that Earth didn’t. There were so many different people in this place and yet they all fit in somehow, they made things work. And so could she. But it would take time, of course. She couldn’t forget that.
Her patience will pay off in some way in the end. But until then, all she can do is help Beat and look out for him. And you know what? That doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea to her.
