[ I think Rhyme and I might have different definitions of the word 'fun'... ]

I don't know anyone here. Why would I want to go?

Well you could go and meet new people there! [Not that Neku has ever seemed like the person to go and do that but it's worth a shot.] Besides, I bet you and Shiki would enjoy yourselves. She'd have fun dressing you up if anything.

I'll go if you and Beat come with us.

[ I'll just let that comment about Shiki dressing me up slide for now.. ]

I'll go! [She's more than happy to] Though it may take some convincing on Beat's part. I'm not sure how fond he is of more formal parties.

[ Neku actually laughs a little at that. ]

He's already agreed to go, actually.

Really?? [That surprises her a little but she's happy] Well I'm glad he agreed. We can all have a great time together!

Yeah, I hope so. We'll see you there?

[Hikaru Hitachiin walks into All Passions. He's been rehearsing various modes of approach after dealing with that really annoying girl. Maybe the person she'd told him to talk to would be more reasonable... or maybe he'd just end up hand-stitching everything he wanted to work on.

He was, at least, going to try and be polite.]

[Rhyme is in the back when Hikaru first walks into the store, grabbing what she's able to with the nonexistent use of her hands to put on display out front. Even though it's still hard to do things on her own, that isn't going to stop her from working hard and getting the fall line set up! Besides, it's gotten a little easier now that she's been like this for months. She's figured out ways to get by even if she may look... awkward handling things sometimes.

She steps out after a minute of fumbling around in the back, now carrying some Shibuya-esque fall clothes, and beams at her customer once she spots him.]

Oh, hey! Welcome to All Passions! Is there something I can help you with?

[That greeting seals it. This is who he needs to talk to.]

I'm looking for a Miss Rhyme. I have a question for her.

That would be me! Though you can just call me Rhyme. [A light giggle] What can I help you with?

[Shifting her weight to one side]

[Okay. Fairly friendly. Pretty young. That helped him choose which script to go with. Because no way was he just going to work here because someone told him to. ...Really, the place didn't look too bad. Under other circumstances, it might have been a good way to jumpstart his career. But not after he'd been told he would work there.]

Someone told me I might be able to find a sewing machine here. [But this was a business. He wouldn't act like he expected to set the terms.] I could come in after hours, when it's not being used. Haven't found anything new in the one store that I like, so...

Gonna make my own, and hand-stitching can be such a pain.

[There's a blink but she's quick to smile again. The question was a bit out of the blue, but it makes her happy. A lot of people recently have started to step forward and show their skills with sewing. She's missed being surrounded by it. But even though none of them work here, working with them on a group project taught her a lot too for when she gets the use of her hands back!]

You were told right, we do have a sewing machine here. You're free to come by and use it whenever you'd like! I can't use it right now so it's not really being used for much, even during the day. [It's a good thing Shiki had left enough clothes from last years seasonal lines to put out this year.] Oh, and you're welcome to use any of the supplies we have in the back too.

It's nice to know that there are other people here that like to make their own clothes. [Reminds her of Shiki, to be honest]

Great. I'll bring over my fabric and designs and get to work. Probably tomorrow.

[And. Well. A Hitachiin is nothing if not a bit bit vengeful.]

The girl who told me about you -- I didn't catch her name, but you should really talk to her. [A small frown, like he's a bit upset. A good mimicry of uncertainty.] She basically told me -- after she mentioned you -- that if I wanted to use the sewing machine, I'd have to work here. No choice about it, just "If you want to use it, you'll be working there."

Really off-putting. I almost didn't come. I mean -- maybe she was just having a bad day, but I can't imagine that kind of advertisement is very good, you know?

[ ...A-aha Rhyme is pretty sure she knows who this guy is talking about. There's only one girl and person who knows Rhyme who would say something like that. She said something a little off-putting when she first started looking for volunteers to work at the shop too.

She sighs a bit and shakes her head] I think I know who you talked to. I'm so sorry, I've told her before not to act that way. I'll talk to her about it again. [Here's to hoping Haruhi hasn't scared anyone else away. Offering a small smile] But don't worry, you don't have to work here to use the sewing machine. I'd rather someone use it for something than let it just sit in the back to collect dust!

[He'd been trying to get his bearings since his arrival. And now, after nearly two and a half months, he was starting to feel like he wasn't free-falling. It certainly helped that he had both Yu-senpai and Yukiko-senpai here. Not to mention the fact that he was making friends on his own.

And that meant his attention was turned towards his hobbies and habits. Which meant he needed a place to "sell" his creations. And he'd come across the All Passions clothing store. It was nearly perfect for what he wanted and his skills. So, a little research led him to this Rhyme girl as the one in charge of the shop.

After some deliberation, he finally gathered up the courage to contact her.]

Uh, y-yeah, um, my name's Kanji Tatsumi and I...uh...need to talk to you about something.

[Rhyme is in the middle of working on one of her practice projects when she takes a moment to open her journal to see if anything new has come up as she grabs some new thread and sees the message. Well now, it's not every day someone new contacts her out of the blue! But she doesn't mind at all. So she puts her needles and spools down and goes to respond.]

Hello there, Kanji! My name's Rhyme, though I guess you know that if you're the one contacting me. [There's a small giggle] What can I do for you?

[Dammit, of course she'd be one of the giggly types. It was really just his luck.]

I, uh... I need a place to show off my...Look, I made plush toys and sew and shit, okay? I need a place to do that in. My roommate ain't exactly the easiest to work around and your shop, All Passions I think it was, was recommended to me by someone around here.

[He isn't going to mention that it was Cross who said he should go work there, but he doesn't have to, does he?]

[Don't worry, Kanji, she doesn't have gigglefits or anything. She just has a much lighter laugh than most.

But oh? What's this now? Someone else coming up to her about working at All Passions? Well, Hikaru was different in the sense where he just wanted a place to sew but Kanji wants a place to put up his stuff. Rhyme still can't fill the shop to the brim like Shiki could by herself and even though she is starting to get some new things of her own up, she's not going to turn down a helping hand in keeping this place stocked.]

Well, you're definitely more than welcome to come work here at All Passions! We have a back room with some materials and a sewing machine for you to work. And some extra shelves to put your things on since you wanted to do that, right?

What kind of things do you make?

[Okay, he can deal with her when she isn't laughing. Girls and laughter haven't always meant the best things for him. It's not easy being a six-foot tall teenaged boy who liked to knit, okay?]

That sounds great! And more than enough room for me to be able to work without Goku tryin' to break stuff or pickin' it up before I'm done!

I, um, I guess you could say that I specialize in handcrafted plush toys.

[Talking about his hobby? What awkwardness? Nope, so long as she didn't laugh he was good. ANd since he hadn't run into anyone willing to give him a hard time about it, Kanji felt more comfortable than he ever did back home. Even with his senpai's support.]

I mean, I come from a family of textile merchants, so I've done all the normal shit, but... uh, that's not all I do.

[Rhyme is never one to judge people or laugh at (though she might when teasing her brother in a light manner) so shhhh shhh it's okay.]

I'm glad to hear that. [Poor Kanji] That's really amazing though! I can definitely imagine that you must be very skilled coming from a family who works in textile. I'd really love to see your work.

Do you think you could bring your stuff here for me to see?

[Well, this isn't the kind of reception he was hoping to get. He blinks a bit before responding again.]

Thanks, I...I have a few finished ones that I can bring over whenever you're available.

[If he doesn't lose his nerve first.]
